OIL CITY, Pa. – UPMC Northwest and the YMCA are partnering to improve and enhance the quality of life for heart patients in Venango County.

Phase III of UPMC’s Cardiac Rehab program is located at the Oil City YMCA. UPMC staffs the program with a certified RN and physician oversight. They program has been in place for over twenty years and strengthens more than hearts. The program has been just as popular socially as it is physically.

Cardiac Rehabilitation is designed for those who have experienced a cardiac event and have completed Phases I and II of a cardiac rehabilitation program. This program is also ideal for those who suffer from heart disease, hypertension or diabetes, fibromyalgia, or strokes.

Cardiac Rehabilitation is held at the YMCA on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week from 7:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. The cost of the program is just $15.00/month for members or $25.00/month for non-members.

Joining the program is easy. Simply ask your physician for a referral and stop by the YMCA to register.
