Adult Programs

Did you know that we offer Child Watch for children ages 8 months to 7 years while their parents work out in the YMCA facility?

9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. This service is FREE FOR YMCA MEMBERS, $2 per hour per child for non-members.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR YMCA PROGRAMS:

  • You may register in person by stopping by the YMCA Member Service Desk.
  • You may register on this web site by clicking the On-Line Registration button found on the top left of any web page.
  • You may download and print some registration forms at www.oilcityymca.org/resources and mail the completed form along with your payment.

YMCA HEALTHY LIFESTYLES SEMINAR

Attend our Healthy Lifestyles Class weekly on Tuesdays from 5-6 pm at the YMCA. Topics include:  Physical Activity, Goal Setting, Stress and Sleep, Nutrition and Sustainability.  Learn how modest changes can help you reach your weight loss goals.  Develop nutrition and exercise plans that work for you.  $75/Members or $100/Non-Members; For ages 18+.

YOGA   – Wednesday 5:30—6:30 pm

Yoga is held in 6-week sessions with Tracy Pettit! Purchase a YOGA package for $25/members or $50 for Non-members. Drop in for $5/members or $10/non-members per session.

  • Session 1:  Sept. 4—Oct. 9
  • Session 2:  Oct. 23—Nov. 27                                                      **Yoga is NOT included in Group Exercise Package .

SLIM DOWN FOR THE HOLIDAYS—EARN CASH!

Lose 5% of your body weight in eight weeks, October 1—December 2 and WIN CASH!  Weigh in at the YMCA October 1 from 10 am to 6 pm or on October 2 from 6 am to 4 pm.  Members pay $25 and non-members pay $35.  Complete your final weigh-in at the Y on December 2 from 6 am to 4 pm or Friday, December 3 from 10 am to 6 pm.  Those who lose 5% or more of their body weight will split the pot of cash!

TAE KWON DO AGES 6 THROUGH ADULT

Classes meet on Wednesdays in the multipurpose room from 6:30—8 pm with Chris Blauser.  Six week session fee is $22 Members and $32 Non-Members.

  • SESSION 1: September 11—October 16
  • SESSION 2:  Call for start dates.

ADULT BASKETBALL LEAGUE

The fall league will be held on Tuesday nights starting      October 1st for ages 18+.  Teams must consist of 7-12 players.  Team colors will be assigned. League will consist of a round robin regular season followed by single elimination playoffs.  Cost is $250 per team.  Contact Max Krepps at 814-677-3000 for more  information.

TURKEY TROT 5K RUN/WALK

The Turkey Trot will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019. The race will start and finish at the Samuel Justus Bike Trail in Oil City.  Awards will be presented for runners and walkers.  Register by November 5 to be guaranteed a t-shirt for $20.  Register after November 5th for $25.

MEMBER LUNCHEONS

Luncheons are held monthly at the Oil City YMCA.  Gather with friends and socialize while eating some great food!  We ask that you pre-register prior to each luncheon and bring a covered dish to share!

  • Friday, October 11 at 11 am—PUMPKIN PATCH PICNIC Bring a pumpkin to carve, or carve one of ours!
  • Friday, November 15 at 11 amTHANKSGIVING FEAST—The Y will provide turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing. Bring your favorite side dish or dessert to share.

PICKLEBALL

Pickleball combines elements of tennis, table tennis, badminton and racquetball.  The game is played indoors and utilizes a paddle.  Learn in our skills clinics or attend to play in games! Tuesday & Thursday Games 9 am—12 pm; Wednesday 9 am—10 am; Saturday 8 am –10 am.  FREE for Members; Day Pass rate applies for Guests

SENIOR OPEN HOUSE

Mark your calendar for Friday, September 13 from 8:30 am to 12:45 pm for a free luncheon and open house, open to the community.  We will be offering a free intro to fitness class in the wellness center at 8:30 am, free SilverSneaker exercise class at 8:30 am, Arthritis Aquatics class in the pool at 9:00 am, Pickleball in the gym from 9-11 am, Water Aerobics at 10 am, luncheon at 11 am and bingo at 11:20 am. Find out if you qualify for a free membership through your insurance!


CARDIAC REHABILITATION – PHASE III & HEALTHY FRIENDS GROUP EXERCISE PROGRAM

For individuals having completed Cardiac Rehab Phase I and Phase II or for those who would like supervision in an exercise program. Program offered between the hours of 7:30 and 9:45 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday & Friday. Monthly fee $15 members/$25 non-members.

PERSONAL COACH

Train three times a week by appointment with a personal coach. Monthly fee $50 members/$75 non-members.

PERSONAL TRAINING

David McClellan, EPT is available to work with you one-on-one to meet your fitness needs and goals. One hour session fee: $28 YMCA Member, $40 Non-member. Please call the member service desk to schedule your appointment. 814-677-3000.

SMART START PROGRAM

FREE PROGRAM FOR NEW MEMBERS—$150 Value

Smart Start is a program that provides you with the tools you need to reach your fitness goals. The program is customized to your needs and will help you set attainable goals and provide the ongoing support necessary for your success. In three short meetings, we can take you from an exercise skeptic to a confident individual who is excited about working out. In just a few sessions, you will gain the tools and resources that will help you succeed! FREE for NEW YMCA Members During the First Month of Membership.

FITNESS ASSESSMENT

Under the direction of a YMCA Trainer, we’ll assess your cardiovascular fitness and endurance. You will also be weighed and measured along with a flexibility, strength and endurance test. This will help you identify your strengths and weaknesses and help you to determine a work out plan to achieve your fitness goals. FREE for members by appointment.
