AMYMSA MASTERS SWIM TEAM
Do you miss being part of a team? Are you looking for a great workout and a way to measure your results? AMYMSA Masters Swim league is for ages 18-100 and begins August 26. Practice in your free time and on Fridays from 8—9 am with the group. Participate in monthly meets at surrounding pools. There is a championship meet at the end of the season. AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARDING
Are you interested in a great seasonal job or a career as a lifeguard? Learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, first aid & CPR you’ll need to work as a lifeguard. The class is online from September 23-27. In-class sessions are held September 28 from 12-8 pm and September 29 from 12-5 pm. Ages 15+. Cost is $175/Members and $200/Non-Members.
24 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS SWIM CHALLENGE
Challenge yourself to a holiday swim, or 24 of them. Swim 24 lengths on December 2, 23 lengths on December 3 and so on, until you have one length left to swim on December 23. All who finish the challenge receive a T-shirt. Register by December 2. Cost $15.
Swim, bike and run in our annual triathlon held at Two Mile Run County Park. Individuals and teams are welcome to compete. Every pre-registered athlete receives a shirt. Triathlon is held September 14, 2019. Registration forms are available online at www.oilcityymca.org/resources. Pre-registration: $45/Individuals & $60/Team; Race Day: $50/Indiv. & $70 team.
ARTHRITIS AQUATICS PROGRAM
Meets in the pool Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. A series of gentle exercises to improve joint mobility and relieve pain and stiffness. Monthly fee: Free for members/$40 non-members.
ADULT GROUP SWIM LESSONS
For the beginning adult swimmer who wants to learn to swim or improve their technique or endurance.
Saturdays 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6:30-7:00 p.m.
Monthly fee: $5 for members/$40 non-members. Must register in advance before the first of the month at the Member Service Desk.
PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
Four 30 minute lessons a month, once a week. Adult Monthly fee: $60 members/$80 non-members. By arrangement with the aquatics director.
Activate your urge for variety. Splash offers fun, shallow-water movement to improve agility and flexibility while addressing cardiovascular, strength and endurance conditioning. No swimming ability is required and a special SilverSneakers® kickboard or other aquatic equipment is used to improve strength, balance and coordination. Please wear water shoes and bring water in a plastic bottle. Monday, Wednesday and Friday 11:45 a.m.- 12:45 p.m.
